The 11th AfrEA Conference is being held in Kigali, Rwanda, from 18-22 March 2024.
We met with the AfrEA President, members of the Board and Conference organisers to discuss the involvement of EvalIndigenous members. The call for Abstracts is out and we encourage members to submit. We are assessing our ability to contribute funding to people’s whose EvalIndigenous specific abstracts are accepted. There are three streams that seem most appropriate for showcasing our work: 3. Made in Africa Theories and Practices: What can we contribute to the international discourse? 7. Indigenous Evaluation and Ethics: Recalibrating the Made in Africa Evaluation in the Context of the Decolonization Debate. 10. Decolonizing evaluation in Africa in the Post-Crisis Era. |

After the conference, on Thursday afternoon, May 7 we will reconvene to plan a way forward and make a statement about our time in Fredericton. A survey will go out soon to ask about who intends to attend. |
